The word “vampires” in the band’s name should not make you think that this is a slow and somber gothic project, because Alien Vampires is a blazing contrast to anything like that. On most tracks, the rhythm is simply scorching, the beat fierce, the vox harsh and compelling. The band also touts gorgeous female vocals that create haunting backgrounds on some of the more archingly anti-religious tracks. Overall, the band clearly aims to evoke thoughts of torture, satanism and deviance run amok -- as they convincingly did with their enormously successful MCD "Nuns are Pregnant" and the album "Evil Generation". Alien Vampires prove to be masters of the craft in creating the soundtrack to infernal darkness, combining sexuality and sadism in a cocktail for killers hoping to mate with those willing to lend soft throats to tight hands. These marauders of the electro night have already established themselves as a "cult" band with, dare we say, a religiously devoted following, and are inch-by-bloody-inch clawing their way to the top of the heap. Carnage is no obstacle to this band. AV recently toured with well-known band AGONOIZE and toted away loads of new followers. With tracks like "We are dead f**k you" and "Rave to the grave", listeners are given a small clue of the uncensored, trance-laden, crucifixwielding murderous fury through which they rumble and slide on 14 tracks in a conceptually unblinking, uncensored layout. Alien Vampires burns together black metal, trance and hardcore industrial in what may be simply the biggest, freshest album of 2008 for the "black" crowd. At the end of February 2008 the keenly anticipated Unheilig album “Puppenspiel”, a consequent refinement of its predecessor “Moderne Zeiten”, will be released. Once again The Graf deals with human concerns and desires, often reflecting autobiographical experiences of past and present times, and projects them onto the world of puppet shows. The puppet show -as a special kind of performing art- represented an exceptional challenge for The Graf during the composition of this concept album. On the one hand, he is able to act the role of the puppet player leading and directing the characters, on the other hand, however, he also plays the part of the animated artefact itself which is rigidly tied to existing mechanisms. Unheilig also covers the full range of puppet show topics: ancient elements such as the archaic theme of heaven and hell, the medieval good and evil, the romanticism of the 19th century are used alongside with the visual arts of modern times. Compared to its predecessors Unheilig has concentrated more on details and nothing was left to chance. Both production and visual elements of „Puppenspiel“ are more distinct than ever before: the guitars are more precise, the voice more thrilling and passionate and the concept as a whole is a lot more expressive. Never before has Unheilig presented such a musical abundance. “Puppenspiel“ is a frank, honest and straight forward album which combines bass, beat and guitar elements with breathtaking emotional ballads. Although a variety of textual and musical elements is presented, the album never gets caught in opportunism but rather accentuates the unmistakable voice of the The Graf and thus bestows a final and unique distinctiveness onto this album. Thighpaulsandra (Tim Lewis) is a Welsh experimental musician known mostly for performing on synthesizers and keyboards. A collaboration with Cope in 1993 followed, as the experimental duo Queen Elizabeth.
